Rowen is a developing medium at the Calgary First Spiritualist Church (CFSC). She has been privileged to attend the advanced mediumship circle with Louise Gebhart since December 2022. Before arriving at Calgary First, Rowen sat for four years in a private trance mediumship circle led by Morag MacLennan, a long-time member of the SNU, UK. In 2023 Rowen also attended an advanced virtual mediumship circle hosted by senior Arthur Findlay tutor Eileen Davies, LS SNU. Early during the pandemic, Rowen received the calling to become an ordained Spiritualist minister and was ordained with the Spiritualist Church of Canada on April 7 at Calgary First Spiritualist Church. Rowen gives messages from spirit at CFSC’s Wednesday “All Messages” services and does psychic readings at CFSC events.
I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW, clinical specialization with adults). I have had 25+ years counselling experience and extensive training in solution focussed therapy through non-profit counselling centres. I have a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy informed practice in public health (mental health and addictions). I practice brief intervention therapy with a trauma-focussed, strength-based lens utilizing two eye movement (non talk) therapies, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and EMDR. As an ordained Spiritualist Minister and yoga teacher my passion is holding the energy for my client’s connection to Spirit and their understanding of the divine source energy. Accessing this expanded sense of Self with the gentle guidance of Spirit and your own intuition can help release old traumas and improve your self-compassion and esteem.
One of Rowen’s favourite sayings is: All manner of things shall be well, perhaps one of the earliest examples of a positive (and optimistic) affirmation by the British medieval mystic Julian of Norwich.
